The first wedding I was able to photograph this season was in a secluded wooded setting, full of perfect DIY decoration and style, and the most emotional, joyous receiving line showcasing the union of two families that I have ever witnessed. Celebrating with a couple like Delon and Marilyn was an honor! After the first meeting it was clear that we were all on the same wavelength and that Marilyn and her crew were planning the most gorgeous, pinterest-inspired rustic wedding in the heart of Amish country Ohio. The more we were able to chat about the venue, her plans, and their day, the more the excitement built up. Every plan seemed to go off without a hitch. The decision to include horses for her entrance on a carriage (as well as the bride and groom’s exit) can be a pretty scary thought, but the execution was flawless. The carriage looked like it had nowhere to go after our beautiful bride exited, and then it turned on a dime (and how often does a photographer get such a beautiful entrance/exit to photograph?)! The fusion of rustic decor, the interest and flair of such a diverse wedding party and guest list, and the most amazing wooded setting was magical to photograph. The trails and clearing at the Kidron Community Park could not have made a more perfect setting for Delon and Marilyn’s dream wedding. The woods were gorgeous for photography and the facilities were fantastic.

The outdoor portraits of Delon and Marilyn are so special and unique to me because we simply gave them space to soak in the moment and enjoy each other as husband and wife for the first time. You can’t pose or infuse emotion like we were able to photograph while our couple walked the short trail back to the ceremony site after their horse drawn carriage exit. Delon was one pumped up dude, let me tell you! He had every reason to be excited, as he was able to commit to the love of his life and completely enjoy her as a partner in marriage for the first time. He tried to apologize a couple times for his excitement… are you kidding?! It was a blessing to witness the love and joy Marilyn and Delon shared throughout the entire day, but especially on their walk immediately after the ceremony. Here are a few of the many beautiful photographs we were able to make together.

  1. Absolutely beautiful photos. Creative, natural. We were, at the last minute, unable to attend the ceremony. Your album helped us to feel that we were there.

Knowing Delon and Marilyn only makes it more special, to have seen and feltl their love for each other and their family and friends! I am so blessed to have been witness to this happy day! Best wishes in Life!
