Pittis – Dover, New Philadelphia, Ohio Family Photographer

Published in Family, Photography

Yesterday I was able to go out and shoot with the Pittis family around downtown New Phila and then later move out to the Pleasant Valley area. This family has loads of style, and New Philadelphia’s eclectic back alleys provided a great backdrop and texture. As a photographer, I love being able to walk the alleys every once in a while and find great spots like these. Dover and New Phila. have a ton of great areas that photograph with lots of character, and we had a great time walking around and exploring while making these photographs. Not to mention I simply love the trees and landscape of Ohio. There is definitely a trade off with our weather, but Ohio has some redeeming qualities!

I love showcasing a mixture of natural settings and urban texture, and this session was a perfect example of why this approach can work so well. Even though New Phila and Dover aren’t exactly big cities, there is still plenty of urban feel to work with. This mixture of locations also lends itself to a mixture of mediums to display your photography at its best. For example, the ultra wide shot against the gray brick wall looks amazing with the extremely high contrast, saturated, and three dimensional look of professional metallic photo paper, and the father in this family loves the modern look of that particular metallic mounted print. The soft expressions and beautiful soft scenery of April and Keith in the field created one of the most beautiful 16×24″ canvas gallery wraps I have ever seen. The elegance of a canvas wrap matches up perfectly to their stunning couples shot in the field of yellow flowers. It’s incredibly rewarding to see a session from start to finish, with the client displaying their photographs as artwork in their home, and this is why I love what I do.
