Sugarcreek, OH Winter Wedding Photography | Mark & Laura – Carlisle Inn
Mark and Laura’s wedding day was nestled perfectly in between winter storms. Their intimate, family focused wedding was a breath of fresh air compared to the many high stress, high stakes weddings that can quickly take the life out of a day that is meant to be a celebration of love and two families coming together. Mark shared with me early on in the day that his goal for their wedding photography was one good photograph of he and Laura together! He and Laura embodied the “roll with it” attitude all day as Mark’s brother’s luggage (and military dress blues) was MIA, his other groomsmen had a different wardrobe mishap, and things seemed to be forever challenging. He and Laura were both calm and never let anything get in the way of their special day. The wedding ceremony was equally impressive from my perspective. They kept things low-key again by foregoing ushers in favor of their family mingling and spending quality time together before the ceremony started. I was even able to make a quick portrait of Mark’s grandparents, who had just recently celebrated their 54th anniversary!
We braved the bitter cold two short times to make some photographs together outside in the lovely winter scene, and then simply enjoyed the day together. The Carlisle Inn was a gracious host, and their staff and facilities made for a fantastic reception. It was hard to imagine the day was over when Mark and Laura left, but their wedding day was full of fun, love, and happiness, and I feel incredibly blessed to have been a part of it!
How beautiful! I love the image of the groom as he sees his bride going down the aisle. Such a lovely moment! I also like the ones in front of the Christmas lights!

I love low key weddings as well. I am confident they got at least one great pic. I know which one I would have chosen. Good work.

I wasn’t 100% sure on what anniversary it was, so thank you for the correction Kate! Thank you for the comment as well, it was great to be there!

The 17th photo from the top is a remarkable photo with perfect composition and focus and color and youth and class and innocence and hope. Simply stunning! As a photographer, I hope you truly take pleasure in capturing forever a moment in time and providing memories for those who were there and glimpses of the love present for those who weren’t. Well done.
